Sometimes you’ve got to have the right gear for the job. Especially when it’s an exhilarating ice drive from behind the wheel of a Jaguar or Land Rover! We’ve just received these jackets from Monogram Team Wear who supply them for Scandinavian ice drive adventures. These three day excursions take place on the edge of the Arctic circle, and allow those taking part to take some thrilling drives in luxury cars on frozen lakes and snow tracks. The key is to keep warm, and there is no doubt this jackets will do the job.
Our job, albeit it not as exciting as learning how to power slide on icy lakes, is to get these jackets in tip top condition before they are worn. As well as our local customers, we look after corporate clients. If you’d like to know more about the services we can offer to businesses, call Ian Reid on: 07778777716
We clean your designer clothes, always have – always will. But NEVER did we think there was a chance you’d be stepping out in one of our plastic dry cleaning bags…
We’ve all seen items on the catwalk that are completely impractical to wear. One is most likely to assume that these less than wearable garments are all part of the drama of the catwalk and rarely go into production. However, Moschino bucked the trend with their dry-cleaning bag dress, all yours for the tidy sum of £560.
So here’s an idea. To encourage more of you to go plastic free (and save yourself a ‘monkey’), we suggest you jazz up your wardrobe with one of our reusable dry cleaning bags. After all, plastic is so passe.
It’s not all about high fashion and fabulous staff, you know. We need to give credit to the machinery that helps us get the fantastic results our customers love. For all dry cleaning, we use the Renzacci Progress Xtreme (we have two of them, and we even named them Thing 1 and Thing 2).
These natty monsters of machinery come with something called i-Brain technology, which means we can monitor, manage and control what’s going on with the cleaning of your clothes from start to finish. They’re also as eco-friendly as dry clean machines can be – with lower energy consumption and ecological filtering systems.
We try and do what we can. Which reminds us, have you got #plasticfree yet? Ask at the counter for more information.
One of the brilliant things about our job is keeping in the ‘fashion-know’ thanks to our trendy customers! #wecleanclothesforatownthatlovetowearthem
Looking to this year’s trends, here are a few of the styles we hope to clean for you in 2019:
OVERSIZED HATS: Jacquemus started the trend for ginormous hats (do an Insta-search) and now other brands want in on the action. We can’t think of anything more perfect for Henley Royal Regatta and Marlow Town Regatta Festival. We can spot clean them post-fun.
TIGHT PLEATS: Tighter than ever before – the micro pleat provides maximum impact as it generates not only more movement but also a more fluctuating silhouette as it expands and contracts. Science-y, eh? Don’t be put off by the extra ironing, we’re experts at pressing pleats. :
SUMMER WATERPROOFS: Last Summer was glorious, but when it rained, boy, did it rain! We offer re-proofing, because you can never be too prepared.
PUFFED SHOULDERS: Often gathered at the shoulder with pleats of elastic, this variation of the shoulder pad requires maximum volume – which we can restore for you, wear-after-wear.
SEQUINS: Have sequins ever *not* been on trend? Save your washing machine and your delicate sequin and beaded garments – bring them to us for an ozone clean instead.
‘Like’ the competition image (as seen here) and tag a friend. EASY PEASY! The winner will be selected at random on 1st October. We are located in both Henley and Marlow. Feel free to follow our feeds for future offers, competitions and general amazingness!
We get our kicks being eyebrows deep in fabulous clothes that need a little bit of love. Which is WHY @reidsofhenley are thrilled to have been asked to SPONSOR the TOTE BAG at the @the_mama_do Fashion Re:Boot Event on Friday 11th May (6pm – 10pm) |
The first 100 peeps to saunter into the Sacred Heart Hall will be gifted with one of these fabulous #reidsofhenley#lessplastic tote bags (you’ll see our name on it!) •
We’re thoroughly enjoying the Skeleton, Curling, Biathlon and all the other weird and wonderful Snow-based sports at this year’s Olympics. We joyously whooped when Lizzy Yarnold took gold for GB 🇬🇧🥇👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you’re returning from your 🎿 hols don’t forget to drop your gear into the Henley or Marlow shop. We clean, re-proof, refresh and package it up so you’re all ready for next year’s snow shenanigans ❄️
At this time of year a lot of thought is given to upcoming nuptials and wedding plans. If you (or a friend / family member) are getting hitched in 2018 you might want to consider (gifting them) the cleaning and packaging of your (their) wedding dress.
Reids of Henley offer a truly bespoke service for all bridal wear. Be it dry cleaning for an organza silk gown or an aqueous-based clean for a polyester-satin dress. We even have a magic ozone cupboard for the most delicate of dresses and accessories.
This bespoke service also allows you to choose whether to have your dress beautifully boxed in tissue paper / or hung in a high quality protective bag. The choice is yours.
This totally individual service takes approximately 4 weeks – and prices start from £110. Reids of Henley are dedicated to perfection – and never more so when you bring us items of such personal importance.
What’s to like about dry cleaning right? You spot the ‘Not For Machine Wash’ label in the shop – sigh a big sigh – and buy the item anyway. You’ll wear it once. Then it will sit on ‘the chair’ where it will pass the sniff test, maybe once or twice. And then, and only then will you probably bring it to the dry cleaners.
If you have had a bad experience at a dry cleaners you may feel it’s a bit of a gamble – old stains stay, clinging onto the threads of your favourite blouse; buttons go missing; and hems unravel.
What goes on behind the scenes of a dry cleaners? Do you imagine huge silver machines rumbling, while mannequins blow hot air into your under garments? Let’s face it, it is all a bit of a mystery.
BUT, when dry cleaning and laundering is done correctly – and when you understand what is going on behind those closed doors, it can be a joyous experience!
That is WHY we are introducing a new feature called ‘ASK IAN’. For those of you who don’t know, Ian is Mr Reid. The boss man himself. And he wants YOU to ask him questions about the cleaning of clothes, household items and anything else you can think of (within reason). He is going to attempt to de-mystify dry cleaning.
Maybe you’d like to know why some stains come out, yet others won’t shift – no matter what. Or why your washing machine eats socks? Or why every cashmere jumper you have ever owned ends up the size of a postage stamp.
Ask Ian… he knows his onions (and how to get rid of the smell of them from your curtains).
