We clean your designer clothes, always have – always will. But NEVER did we think there was a chance you’d be stepping out in one of our plastic dry cleaning bags…
We’ve all seen items on the catwalk that are completely impractical to wear. One is most likely to assume that these less than wearable garments are all part of the drama of the catwalk and rarely go into production. However, Moschino bucked the trend with their dry-cleaning bag dress, all yours for the tidy sum of £560.
So here’s an idea. To encourage more of you to go plastic free (and save yourself a ‘monkey’), we suggest you jazz up your wardrobe with one of our reusable dry cleaning bags. After all, plastic is so passe.
It’s not all about high fashion and fabulous staff, you know. We need to give credit to the machinery that helps us get the fantastic results our customers love. For all dry cleaning, we use the Renzacci Progress Xtreme (we have two of them, and we even named them Thing 1 and Thing 2).
These natty monsters of machinery come with something called i-Brain technology, which means we can monitor, manage and control what’s going on with the cleaning of your clothes from start to finish. They’re also as eco-friendly as dry clean machines can be – with lower energy consumption and ecological filtering systems.
We try and do what we can. Which reminds us, have you got #plasticfree yet? Ask at the counter for more information.
What a wonderful evening we had at the MAMA.DO FASHION RE:BOOT event in Henley-on-Thames. Reids of Henley were the proud sponsors of the free tote bag and we’re pleased to say the crowd loved them. Thank you for asking us to be involved MAMA.DO. It was an absolutely brilliant event and we can’t wait for the next one!
You may have seen the feature in The Henley Standard a few weeks ago, detailing our desire to stop using disposable plastic covers on suits and other clothes, because we’re concerned about the effect plastic waste is having on the planet.
We’re pleased to report that a large handful of customers have come forward and are helping us trial the #breakingupwithplastic initiative. However, in order for us to work out the nitty gritty and see if we can put this plan in place we really do need your help.
We would love more people to go plastic free. This means that your clothes will come home in a smart reusable suit bag, your folded shirts will also be placed in a reusable carry bag, and all bedding will now packed away in one of our reusable duvet bags.
Those wanting to join the trial will get all of these ‘reusable’ bags free (at a later date will will need to start charging). So, what are you waiting for. Pop in to either Henley or Marlow and ask our staff about trialling the less plastic initiative. We can only put this in motion if we know what works and what doesn’t.
