We're Using
Less Plastic
And you can help
It is no secret that the dry cleaning industry is way behind with environmentally friendly techniques, but that is no excuse. We are incredibly proud to say we are up-to-date and running the most eco-friendly efficient machines available. We recycle all our water. We also encourage the recycling of our coat hangers. The next (trickier) step is to look at our packaging.
As of 2019, all household items are returned to customers in breathable, reusable, recyclable bags. We encourage our customers to reuse these large holdall style bags, so we no longer need to use the old style black plastic.
Our next focus is to phase out the use of all plastic packaging on garments and laundry. To this end, we invite our customers to join our less plastics scheme. We have a range of reusable garment covers and laundry bags available to purchase in the shop for a small, not for profit, cost. Please mention to a member of our team if you would like to get involved.

From a dry cleaner’s point of view, Reids of Henley are already leagues ahead of everybody else in the industry when it comes to eco-friendliness. We recognise however, the packaging needs to be reconsidered industry-wide. We are at the forefront of putting that right.
