The Reids Team

In 2017 a crack commando unit was sent to Marlow by a Dry Cleaning expert for a specialist job no one else could solve. These #drycleaningexperts promptly proved they were dedicated to perfection from West Street in Marlow to the Henley-on-Thames underground. Today, still wanted by those with impeccable taste, they survive as soldiers of de-bobbling. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the Reids Team.

Happy 25th Birthday to us!

We were so busy over the regatta / festival period that quite a big mile stone passed us by… the Reading Road shop in Henley on Thames is 25 years old! Can you believe it?

The last 25 years have been brilliant, and now we’re a quarter of a century old it only makes sense to do something pretty spectacular, like… open another store! Our brand spanking new premises will be open to all on Monday 11th September 2017.

Can we do it?

What’s to like about dry cleaning right? You spot the ‘Not For Machine Wash’ label in the shop – sigh a big sigh – and buy the item anyway. You’ll wear it once. Then it will sit on ‘the chair’ where it will pass the sniff test, maybe once or twice. And then, and only then will you probably bring it to the dry cleaners.

If you have had a bad experience at a dry cleaners you may feel it’s a bit of a gamble – old stains stay, clinging onto the threads of your favourite blouse; buttons go missing; and hems unravel.

What goes on behind the scenes of a dry cleaners? Do you imagine huge silver machines rumbling, while mannequins blow hot air into your under garments? Let’s face it, it is all a bit of a mystery.

BUT, when dry cleaning and laundering is done correctly – and when you understand what is going on behind those closed doors, it can be a joyous experience!

That is WHY we are introducing a new feature called ‘ASK IAN’. For those of you who don’t know, Ian is Mr Reid. The boss man himself. And he wants YOU to ask him questions about the cleaning of clothes, household items and anything else you can think of (within reason). He is going to attempt to de-mystify dry cleaning.

Maybe you’d like to know why some stains come out, yet others won’t shift – no matter what. Or why your washing machine eats socks? Or why every cashmere jumper you have ever owned ends up the size of a postage stamp.

Ask Ian… he knows his onions (and how to get rid of the smell of them from your curtains).

How do you like your shirts?

You know what you like and how you like it when it comes to the laundering of your shirts. You might prefer them hung rather than folded. You might like them left unbuttoned so you can slip into them super quick. You might want your shirts packed individually, with a collar support. You see, our Shirt Service is totally bespoke and tailored to you – and the options are endless. We can go easy on the starch, and even use a softener instead. We can wash in bio / non-bio; you can even BYO (and we won’t charge corkage). The point is, all you have to do is ask. It will be done because there is no right or wrong way.

Shirts cost £3.05 each – and if time allows, can be ready on a Next Day Service.
